Rare Vintage West African Shoulder Mount Antelope Deer Taxidermy

Description

This is a vintage Damaliscus Lunatus Korrigum or the East African Topi antelope. It was hunted in 1971 by a colonial French oil executive on safari in a country that no longer exists, Haute Volta, which is now Burkina Faso. Like any shoulder mount over a half century old, the slow continued drying and shrinking of the cape has caused the edges of the ears to split. This can be remedied by trimming the ear forms and gluing the skin back together. Other than that the mount is in great condition. The large ringed horns are particularly lovely. I have decades of experience packing items to survive shipping. This is a very nice exotic mount. Ships from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I will not ship this outside of Canada
